Hello, I am Andrew Jenkins Welcome to my podcast on Australia Vs Iraq in the 2014 fifa world cup qualifiers. We are here an ANZ stadium with a crowd of over 80,000 looking forward to this. A win and Australia secure a place in the Fifa World Cup, a loss or draw and we will have to wait for results tomorrow morning.

SStarting line-up for Australia is Mark Schwarrser in goals. Neill, Wilkshere, Ogdenovski and Milligan at the back. In the middle we have Holman, Bresciano, McKay and Cahill and up front two young guns, Kruse and Tommy Oar. Substitutes are Galekovic, Langerak, Franjic, North, Corntwaite, McGowan, Vidiosic, Holland, Jedinak, Archie Thompson and Josh Kennedy who hasn't played a national game in a long, long time. For Iraq, goalkeeper is Noor Sabri, in the back, Khalaf, Adnan, Fadhill and Quarashi. In the middle is Abdulamir, Tariq, Jassiam and Ibrahim. And the lone striker is Salem. On the bench is Hachim Siammad, Khalid, Ali, MOhammed, Radhi, Ahmad and Abdullah. A very young Iraq side but not unusual with no chance of qualifying.

Okay Kickoff, Iraq to start. (2nd minute) Cahill takes a shot oohhh what a great save by Sabri, Iraq aren't getting in to this game. (10th minute) Oar puts a cross in to Cahill but Sabri keeps it calmly. This pitch is in awful nick. A shame for such a big game like this. (15th minute) Great cross by Neill to Ogdenovskiiii he heads it. Oh and he just can't quite get it right. A great chance there. Still 0-0.

(18th minute) Iraq are finally getting some possesion. They have been losing it too easily tonight. And that's there first corner. Corner taken oh and Schwaser claims it easily.

(24th minute) Iraq are finally getting their foot in and are slowing this game down. PENALTY SHOUTS! Australians are appealing for handball to no avail.'

(35th Minute) Sabri fumbles the ball Cahill!!!! Oh just couldn't hook it around him. WHat another huge chance! Australia could be 2-0 up now.

(40th minute) The Australian crowd is hystericall. With some good momentum an Iraqi has been holding up the game but is now getting up and he seems fine. Boos ring round the stadium.

(44 th minute) Surprisingly Iraq have dominated possession 53 to 47 percent. Yet Australia have had all the chances

This is dissapointing. Another Iraqi player has gone down very softly. The crowd is mad and Australia refuse to put the ball out.

Half Time 0-0 At ANZ stadium

The second half is underway, no substitutions

\(47th minute) Iraq are firing. The balls off to Salmannnnn. What a great shot Schawser is up to it though. Iraq have come out with one thing in mind.To get an early goal.

(49th minute) Milligan plays the ball to Holman but he is crowded in by the Iraqi defence. Iraq are punching above their weight here. The crowd is deadly silent; obviously very nervous

((52nd minute) Another great shot by Holman, Australia getting nervous and some substitutions are necessary, Thompson, Rogic and Vidosic are viable options.

((54th minute) Brecsiano wins the ball and he goes to shoot. Just over the bar. Another missed Australian chance.

60th minute) Oar, to Kruse in the penalty area he can't shoot it. Alas one more wasted chance

(62nd minute) Finally. A substitution for Australia. Rogic comes on for Holman, The crowd is getting into it again.

](63rd minute) Rogic is quickly into it. He slips into the penalty area but is well shepeared out of the way.

(64th minute Rogic finds himself with the ball just outside the area but his shot has the sting taken out of it by a deflection and Sabri picks it up without a problem. Good to see he is in to it so fAST

65th minute) Kruse wins a corner in Australia's great momentum. Good corner and Kruse smashes it into the net!! Ohh dissallowed for a foul from ogdenovski. Australia are coming to dominate and the crowd are rallying them on.

(66th minute) Substitution for Iraq off Quarashi and on Mulla Mohammed, Iraq want some points here and need a change

(68th minute) Cahill, great pass to Oar, crossed innn! Iraq are saving there lines once again. Theyc an't hold on forever.

(69th minute) Foul from Ogdenovski and he goes in the book. The Iraqi stays down once again in this game hoping to slow down Australia's momentum

(72nd minute) Good possession from Iraq and they win a corner, they are getting back it to it. Good corner but cleared at the near post; and Australia keep it at 0-0

(73rd minute) Robbie Kruse goes for a run anddd that's another corner for Australia. He's been amazing tonight. That's a yellow card for Human Tariq for arguing with the referee.

Alright corner. Cleared out but Kruse shoots, too crowded of a box

Substitution for Iraq, Off Human Tariq after his yellow and on Hamady Ahmad

(75th minute) Fifteen minutes to go and you can hear the tension in the Australian crowd

(77th minute) I do not believe it, I am absolutely baffled. In a order to get a win Oseick has taken off Australia's marquee man Tim Cahill has come off for the out of form Josh Kennedy who hasn't played a international in a very very long time. Cahill is trying to ignore it but can't and is absolutely furious and dissapointed. I would of thought Cahill was the man to get the winning goal. The crowd is unsure what could be happening.

(79th minute) Two more substitutions Kruse off and Thompson on. Iraq salman off osama ali on.

(81st minute) Australia need a goal or their world cup dreams may be over. The crowd is so nervous

(83rd minute) Bresciano runs down the line. Gets past the Iraqi defence, he lobs the ball in to the unmarked Josh Kennedy and It is a! Goooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllll!!! Goal for Australia!! Josh Kennedy has scored a great goal maybe to send Australia to the world cup. It is a pile-on Cahill is jumping Oseick is pumping. Could Australia do it?? It was a great goal - one to remember for a while!

Fire up Australia! It was a questionable substitution for Cahill but it has paid off. I think that will relieve Osieck.

(85th minute) Bad foul from Adnan and he is in the book. 5 minutes to go can Australia hold on??|

(89th minute) Iraq fire a shot at goal from far out. Itsss goood. Great save by Scahwser. Australia are still in there!

(90th minute) Ibrahim swerves himself into space in the box. best chance for Iraq!! Rogic sweeps in and clears the ball. 3 minutes of added time

(90th minute + 3) Great cross from Iraq. Schwaser punches it clear as the attackers approach. Can Australia hold on?

The ball is cleared away. And that is full time!!! Australia are going to Brazil!! Australia have won, they are going to the Fifa World Cup 2014!!! Australia pile in!! Australia have won!! They are going to the Fifa World cup!!! Exciting circumstances!!! The crowd is cheering!! Players jumping and staff loving this!! Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi rings round the crowd. Good match from Iraq with such a young, inexperienced team but they have punched above their weight!!

The table now reads

Japan on top with 17 points

Australia second with 13 points

Oman with a game in hand 9 points

Jordan with a game in hand 7 points

Iraq in last with a low 5 points
